Randy Krochak – Drums and Percussion

For Randy Krochak, music runs in the family. Encouraged by his father, Curly West (stage name)—a well-known figure in Vancouver’s Country music scene renowned for his steel guitar and fiddle skills—Randy was asked at a young age which instrument he wanted to play. His answer? “Rock and roll drummer.” Though it wasn’t his father’s first choice, Curly supported Randy’s passion, setting him on a lifelong journey with the drums.

Pouring his heart into every beat

Throughout the 1980s, Randy honed his craft in Vancouver’s vibrant music scene, performing five or six nights a week with original and cover bands. Drums became his creative outlet and a constant presence in his life. After more than a decade of intense performing, Randy decided to step away to pursue an education, start a family, and build his own business, which allowed him to channel his creativity in new ways.

Now back on the drum throne, Randy is thrilled to return to the stage. With years of life experience and a renewed perspective, he approaches his craft as a more mature artist, musician, and drummer. His enthusiasm and dedication make him an integral part of The LowDown.

“Randy’s passion for music and his infectious energy keep the band’s rhythm alive and groovin.”
